Leatherwood scope value?

I have come across an ad that says "Older Leatherwood ART MPC scope with like new M-14/M1A mount". The mount is the type that uses a mounting block that replaces the stripper clip guide. It goes on to state that the scope is a 3-9 power and in great condition.

The asking price is $400.00. I would like to get something like this for my M1A, but I am not very familiar with these mounts or prices for this stuff. I know there are several kinds of mounts and I think this is one of the better ones.

I would appreciate any opinions on the value or design/quality of these items. Thanks in advance for any help.

I would ask, How old is older??? You can buy the Leatherwood scopes NEW at Cabela's and Sportsmensguide for under $265.00 And I have seen the M1A /M14 scope mount for about $35-$40 new. But not the SA mount, Just a look a like.[:)] The older ART I and ART II scopes had ring cams that you need to change for different calibers. And the new scopes just have the one cam.[:)]

It will hurt you, More than it will hurt me..

The "older" Leatherwood scope certainly has no collector value. Buy new, and look at higher quality, such as Burris, Leupold or Nikon.
