The eyes of the hunted are on the side of their head,... the eyes of the hunter are on the front. What do you mean that I am not supposed to hunt?

I agree with the above statement, you have slightly less energy than with a 22Magnum.BTW Gun Test Magazine gave the Savage a Best buy over the Ruger and Marlin.

    Best!!

Bought an aftermarket barrel and converted my Ruger 77/22 bolt gun over to the .17 HMR. Great little round (albiet expensive) with the sub-MOA accuracy mention previously. That is, as long as the cross winds aren't blowing too hard. A slight breeze can really shift the POA of these little rascals. 'Course, the bullet only weighs 17 grains.

    Keep off the Ridgeline

What to expect? Expect more accuracy than you've ever had out of your other rimfires! Expect dead varmints with great repeatability!!! Put a good piece of glass on it and it will be a legitamate 200 yard small varmint rifle! I have both the Marlin 17VS and the Savage 93/17 and both are super accurate rimfires! It's fun not to have to pick up brass now and then and reload!!! GHD
