Rem Mod 11 ?

Picked up a Rem Mod 11 20ga at the gun show . I think I got a good deal ($200 OTD ) It is in very good to fine condition . Could someone explain the Friction Ring ? I will be shooting field loads at Doves . It has a cutts Comp . Is this after market or factory ? Any to tell the age ? Thanks

    It is easy to get the date of manufacture on a Remington. Look on the barrel near the receiver and will will find a couple of letter stamped. They will be something like RM or BL. These are abbreviations for the month and year. Post the letters here and I will look them up for you.

    Will to look up the sequence of installation of the friction ring and cam ring. If someone doesn't answer that part, I will do it later.

    Thanks Herschel The date code is XRR . I have a manual with the friction ring POS. Just wondering how imporant it is .
