Savage 29/Steven's Peerless/.22 pump

I tried a few months ago to see if anyone had any info on a rifle marked "Steven's Peerless" it is obviously a Savage 29 and has a steel buttplate which puts it as pre - war however I'm guessing early 50's because of a round barrel. There's no serial number. Any help would be appreciated. It's 99% except it has an unmarked Tang site added.(I'm sure it's not original)
