Remington 1100 or 1087 purchase question

[?][8)]Hello. I need a shotgun for clays and trap (mostly for clays shooting) and was looking into getting a mid price shotgun. How is remington1100? I was looking at one (used less that box of shells) at my local shooting range. The owner showed me receipt. He bought it last month and it just doesn't fit him right. But it feels good on me, so he wants 400 for it (it has a 26" barrel+3chokes and a 30" trap barrel (fixed full choke) what do you think?
I heard that they kick a little. How is the recoil in 1100?
And one more thing. I looked at Remington 1187 in Dick's Sporting Goods for 599 is that good? If I was to compare those 2 shotguns and their prices which one should I go with considering that I am starting clay shooter. AND WHICH ONE IS BETTER 1100 OR 1187
THANKS Mark

I have an older 1100, my first gun ever, and I have loved it. $400.00 is a steal for a one month old one. Just check out the cost of the extra trap barrel.
Haven't owned an 1187, would probably be a good gun also, but I don't know anything about them.
