Figured I would see what you all can tell me about these.I love em.Somehow they just fit right, shoot straight etc.Have the one in 30 rem.Understand they also came in 32,35 and a few others.I found a 14 and a half, think thats what they called it in 38-40 and nother in 44-40...(i think) Ballisticly the 38-40 doesn't look real good...but wanted it for the set so to speak.Talk to me I know there are so older guys out there that remember them and collectors as well I would think......Are they worth anything?Do you believe they will be a good investment?

I don't have a Remington 14 or 14 1/2. Yet. I'm into the Model 8, Remington's semi-auto which shot the same series of cartridges as the Remington 14. Got 3 of them. A .30 and two .35s. One of them is a "C" grade gun. But I'm on the lookout for a nice representative Model 14. Missed one at a Pawn shop in west Texas recently. Wonderful condition, 1928 manufacture, folding peep sight. $350 Well worth it in my humble opinion. What's the old saying, "he who hesitates...." Anyway, I tried to talk the Pawnshop guy down a little and someone else who appreciates fine Remingtons came in between my trips to the pawnshop and "snarfed" it up from me. I see alot of Rem 14s that are very used up. Doesn't the "thumbnail safety" about double the price...? If you can find one. Rem 14 1/2 are rare also. And expensive. Cheapest I see them is $500. Now that is a fun gun I bet. .44-40 pump. Anyway, I love the old Remingtons. Do you hunt with yours?

Absolutly! Thats why I got the first one just cause it had that feel...After my old Winchester was stolen,I was in need of an intermediate range gun.Saw this one brought it up and fell in love...LOL.Anyhow I tried NOT to by it,and no one ese did either. Finally I got it and have NO regrets. What a great piece..
