I have a Remington 700 BDL in 7 mm Magnum. Serial #6428XXX. I have rated it at about 98%. When was it made & what is the approximate value please? Also, is there a difference in the checkering on the wood that is dependent on year of manufacture for the Remingtons? (cut checkering as opposed to stamped) Your replies are appreciated. Thanks, Dave

    David,
Remington uses a date code(not serial no.)
for manufacture date. You will find two letters
on the left side of the barrel just in front of the
receiver.Post those and I'm sure someone will
    help you out.

Thank you for the input Bobbywins,
The letters on the left side of the barrel are "CU followed by the number 56" --- Does this help to identify the rifle further?
    Thanks, Dave
