i took the trigger assembly out of my sks (7.62x39) for a good cleaning. Well i guess the cleaning was too good, i cant get the assembly to go back into the rifle. I made sure that everything was properly aligned, It seems that something might be wrong with the little retaining rod on the back end. Anyone else ever had this problem ? If so what was that special little trick to get it reinserted.

It has to be fed up into the action at an angle, and that notch at the front has to catch the underside of the barrel. Then make sure the safety is where it was when you took it out. Also, it has to be pressed quite hard to lock into the rifle.

Also the safety has to either be on or off to install, look at the assembly and flip the safety on-off. You will see what I'm talking about.

Once you get it in the right position, lay it sights down to the floor, line up the front catches and give it a firm slam to latch it into place.

    Works for me.

To reinstall the trigger group the safety must be in the safety on position. That is the position where the safety latch is in the horizontal position. Then press very hard on the actual trigger guard and it will snap and click into place.

I've had this problem before and figured out that I had moved a piece in the trigger. The tallist metal piece sticking out of the trigger can be moved an if it is sticking straight up won't go back in the gun. just push it back and it should go in if that is the problem

I had one once that was so tough to put back together, I had to set the rifle upside down on a carpeted floor, and then STAND on the trigger guard to get it to click into place.

Make sure the safety in ON (lever up) and the hammer is cocked. Also make sure the front pin is set squarely in the notch behind the magwell.
