I have some old Winchester rifle barrels that I want to sell but I don't know how to tell the difference between the models 1866,1873,1876,1886,&1894.Can anyone help me on this?

    billybob101,

A good start would be the caliber marking on the barrel. i.e., .44-40 would be a 73 or a 92 Winchester, A 30-30 or .35-55 would be a 94, while a .38-56 or .45-70 would be an 86 and a 40-60 or 45-60 would be a 76. I'm not sure, but I don't think that the 66 had a caliber marked on the barrel. Each of the above had other caliber's, but I won't mention them all.

E-mail me with any info stamped on the barrel and I'll research what you have and let you know. I may even make you an offer on some of them. johnd63033@yahoo.com
