Winchester 101 20ga

I have inherited Winchester 101 20ga. I think it is field grade but I don't know. I have the original receipt from 1969, for $366. It has a small dent in the forearm, blueing is perfect, stock finish is perfect, the action is tight. A dealer offered me $600. What is it worth.

My two year old Blue Book of Gun Values shows a Win 101 in field grade in 98% condition to be worth $850 plus 20% for 20 ga.

The price shown is retail and will vary in different parts of the country.

Hello jimmar: Welcome to the forum! I bet a dealer did offer you $600 for it! since he could most likely double his money.

It's most likely a field grade unless the barrels are choked skeet/skeet. Generally speaking shorter barrels and more open chokes will bring more money. Unless you have a rare 20ga. with 30inch barrels.

In the condition you describe, and without knowing more, I'd say a minimum of $1000. The 20ga is very popular!! Let us know the barrel lengths, and chokes.

    Regards Dave
