I recently bought my "dream gun". A Barret M82A1LW Lightweight. This is my first .50 cal weapon and don't quit know what scope size I should go with. I want to enter a few competions around Kansas so it should be a very nice scope considering the price I paid for the rifle. Any help would be extremily appericated.

I use the NightForce scopes for everything these days. It's not that Leupold is bad, NightForce is better, hands down. They have a range of variable scopes and reticles to cover any of the competitions that you want to enter.

Pay close attention to the quality of the base and rings since they play an equal part in the potential accuracy of your rifle. NightForce and Badger Ordnance are just two of the many that are suitable. Check Brownells for more or do a search.

Take a look at http://www.biggerhammer.net/barrett/ which has a forum and lots of other information regarding 50 BMGs.
You might want to consider joining the FCSA or Fifty Caliber Shooting Association. Great group of folks that prove over and over to be very helpful to anyone that is interested in the .50 BMG shooting sport. There is a Match schedule and a forum on their website:

Best.
