o/u: spartan vs. stoeger

I am looking into purchasing an over/under shotgun. I am looking at a stoeger condor($475) or a spartan ?($530) both brand new. Which would be a better buy for a begginer or just a better buy in general? Other suggestions? This gun will be used mostly for trap shooting.

I can only reply to the Spartan portion of your inquiry. I have a friend and a brother who both own the Spartan O/U. It is a very easy gun to handle and shoots well for the price. I myself purchased a Fausti for less money and it looks great and shoots better then the Spartan.

PS; the Stoeger's are very hard to get one's hands on them few and far between make it for purchase in the USA.

For a few dollars more get a used Ruger Red lable or a Browning Citori

I own a stoeger and we've shot thousands of rounds through it
at trap shoots with no problems!Great shotgun for the money!
Of course it was a starter gun and I would buy it again and I
    still have it.

Stoeger Condor Supreme is the better buy, they take the same choke tubes as the Winchoke/Browning Inv. I'll agree with Krunch on the Fausti, excellant buy for the money and right up there with my Brownings. Look for a single selective trigger with ejectors.

Here in Virginia, I see the Stoeger Condor on sale at Dicks for $299 all the time. I was looking at them, but got the Baikal(Spartan) instead. They are both stiff at first, but good shooters.

I would go with the Stoeger over the Spartan. Stoeger looks better.
