Hi
Can anyone tell me if the Remington 700 barrels and the Remington 600 barrels have the same thread pattern, ie will they interchange???
Thanks

I sent a message to Remington asking this question but need some advice from the experts here. I opened a small gun shop and in moving I had some Rem gun barrels. My helper unpacked without labeling and not sure which is which now.

Question: How can one tell wheather it is a 1100, a 11-87 or even a 870 barrel? Hope I phrased this question right.

    Thanks all, Frank

    rockchunker,

The thread tenon (1.062" x 16 TPI) for both factory models is basically the same.

Will they interchange? The correct answer is yes and no. One will thread into the other but the sights will not line up top dead center and the headspace will probably not be correct. In essence, each barrel will still have to be fitted (set back) by a gunsmith and have the headspace corrected, you just won't pay as much as if you were to have the entire thread and chamber job completed. Have the crown re-done at the same time, insuring that you have a good one from the start rather than bringing it back for a second go 'round.

    Best.

    nonensense!!
Thanks for the reply. It confirmes what I previously thought to be correct but wasn't sure of.. The gunsmithing part is the only way i'd go with a barrel change anyway..
    Thanks again!!
