7MM Smith Mag.

I am trying to find some info on the 7 mm smith mag cartridge. Specifically I am trying to find cart. case dimensions and or how are the cases formed.Any help that can be provided is greatly apprieciated.

    I can provide you with a scan of the data from the "Handloaders Manual of Cartridge Conversion". It states the case can be made from the 7mm Rem. Mag. simply by F/L sizing in the Smith die and then trimming to the proper length (2.375).

    In answer to your questions,
    length to shoulder/neck junction-1.975
    length to body/shoulder junction-1.822
    neck? (shoulder) angle-28.77 degrees
    diameter @ body/shoulder junction-.485
    case length-2.375
    neck length-.400
