has anybody tried one of these yet, they look like an 870 knock off,Gander Montain has them new for $135,not a bad looking shotgun ,fairly smooth action, better than an 870 express, does anybody know who makes them ? if they interchange stocks with a 870 I might buy one and use one of the kits you can buy with a pistol grip, barrel shroud ,ext mag tube, ect.

the shotgun you are talking about is the pardner. It is made by New England Firearms( I think), but i don't think the stocks and other parts are the same as the 870

the stoks are almost a 870 express quality. 2 members who shoot trap in the club have them, they are great shooters.

I own one of these and it is great. I have had no problems what so ever. The stocks on the Pardner are better than that of the 870. Remington is using something other than walnut in thier stocks for the 870 express. Thier finish coloring is a spray on type and looks like crap when it starts to wear. The Pardner comes with walnut stocks with a nice large forearm. The one thing I do not like about the Pardner pump is the trigger feel, but this is a minor issue.
