I'm trying to remove the grip pin on my .45 and it won't budge. Are they tapered and come out from one side only, or do you just have to cut it off and drill it out?
Thanks
JW

I've only removed the locating pin on one Colt SAA, an early 3rd generation that I installed one piece-rosewood grips on. The pin drifted out with moderate raps from a light hammer, with a punch. I don't remember from which direction I drove it out. It was tight, but it was not problematic.

Not a taper pin on any of my first or second gen That i have fitted one piece to . use Raw hide mallet to keep from enlarging the end you are hitting.
