Beretta, Benelli, Franchi, Stoeger

Does anyone know the affiliation between Beretta and Benelli/Franchi and Benelli and Stoeger? Are they all part of the "Beretta group"? On the Beretta USA website there is a link to the Beretta Defence Company which has Sako listed for the rifles and Benelli and Franchi listed under shotgun. What is the deal; does Beretta own all of these companies? Also, Stoeger says their mdl 2000 is from Benelli. Is it the technology or does Benelli actually produce the receivers and send them the the factory in Brazil or Argentina (can't remember which one, think brazil) and Stoeger finishes the product? Thanks experts!

I cannot sort it all the way out, but I know that Beretta owns Benelli, Franchi, Sako/Tikka. I believe Stoeger is an independently owned US company, which imports guns from several manufacturers, but that may have changed in the last couple of years.

Just for fun: Verona shotguns are made by Verona which is owned by Fiochi, and is more or less across the street from Beretta. A number of Beretta employees make extra money doing a shift at Verona as well.

I see this question was also posted by you over on the General Discussion forum. I answered you over there and the entire matter is simply too complicated to duplicate a second time over here...check out your post on the other forum and you'll see what I mean!
