Recently acquired the above shotgun. Has Damascus bbls, exposed hammers, engraved Fox head on top of receiver, very extensive fine engraving, hi grade wood, very good overall condition with some case hardening remaining. Breaks to the side rather than down. It appears to have been made in 1870-1880's. Any info on the company, gun or value is appreciated.

Evening Tripper; For your information: AMERICAN ARMS COMPANY, Chicopee Falls, Mass. Made Smith Carbines during the Civil War..then in 1868/9 AMERICAN ARMS CO. Re-settled in Boston, Mass; Made Shotguns and Small Revolvers and Pistols..until 1893...Moved from Boston, Mass to Milwaukee, Wisconsin 1893/4 until 1904.Also was Known for the Quality G.H. Fox Patent Swing Out Hammer shotgun..[not to be confused with the A.H. Fox Gun Company} American Arms Company was ultimately acquired in early 1900s by Marlin Fire Arms Company... Unfortunately My Database gives No value for your Shotgun, and I hesitate to venture a guess, as I have virtually No knowledge of this particular Shotgun....Best....
