PSP was Precision Small Parts of Charlottesville, Virginia. After the Gun Control Act of 1968 was passed the FN/Browning "Baby" pistol would not meet the "sporting purpose" test due to its small size and could no longer be imported. The old Bauer firearms Company was granted a license to produce this pistol in the United States (it cost $94.95 MSRP in 1977). After Bauer closed its doors the Fraser Arms Company (the actual manufacturer of the Bauer pistol) began to market the pistol under their own name. When Fraser closed shop PSP began producing the little pistol and it was marketed by KBI of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Are you with me so far? When KBI dropped the pistol the rights to the design moved Precision Small Arms Inc. and it remains in production today, called the PSA-25. MSRP ranges from $269 for the standard model on up into the thousands of dollars for the fancy gold plated "Imperial" models. Have you got all of that? In any guise and under any name, these were nice little pistols and should never be confused with the junk cranked out by Jennings, Bryco, Lorcin, and the rest of those manufacturers.

According to the B B, the PSP-25 is a copy of the Baby Browning made in the U. S., under license from F. N. in Belgium.
At least 10 different versions our produced with various finishes and out of different materials.
The company who manufacures these pistols is named "Precision Small Arms, Inc", they are located in Irvine Calif.

Just as the Snowman mentions; Precision Small Arms Inc. is located at 9272 Jeronimo Rd., Irvine, CA 92618. This is about 10 minutes away from me, I've never been there before...but I've visited the CZ, Beretta, and FN factories...go figure! Their phone number is 800-554-5515. Although warranty claims would be out of the question, they should be able to sell you whatever parts you might need to keep your PSP in shooting form. I owned a Bauer years ago and found it to be a fine little pistol.

I loaded and unloaded a Baby Browning every day for a few years and broke two firing pins. It's a good idea to keep a spare.
If you can, polish out any visible tool marks at the radius where the
firing pin meets the firing pin body.

In my experience, the Bauers were not of high quality, and needed a lot of tinkering to make them work. The best modification was a Browning magazine, which often solved feeding problems. As far as I know, Browning parts will interchange, and will probably be of higher quality.
