Changing castoff on shotgun butt stock

I saw a listing that said the shotgun had a castoff for left handed shooters. Seller claimed the castoff could be straightened. Anyone out there know if this can be done and if so, how? (Castoff meaning the butt stock is not straight back, but goes to one side slightly.)

Hello most high grade shotguns do have cast off How ever some shotguns are made that the buyer is blind in one eye but wants to shoot from this shoulder. then the stock is almost S shaped There is a guy in LYNCHBURg Va. that used to do a great job of "BENDING " stocks if it had normal "NOT COCKEYED" right or left hand cast off/on with steam hot oil and heat lamps and would then refinish the stock He did fantastic work but was not cheap.

This kind of work is done by Briley, 1230 Lumpkin, Houston, TX 77043, 800-331-5718, www.briley.com . They use pressure applied with a holding fixture & infrared heat from reptilian heat lamps.

Thanks very much for the info. The castoff on this shotgun isn't enough to spend a lot straightening it. I have read about steam heating and bending wood by early boat builders. I just didn't figure they would do it that way with a shotgun butt. Thanks again!
