I need a date of manufacture for a Winchester model 9422 Magnum, serial# 1829xx. All help is appreciated. I'm doing some research for my father. Thanks!![:)]

I am not aware of any serial number lists for the Model 9422. That stated, production began in 1972, and my guess is that you father's rifle was manufactured circa 1976-1977.

I also have a 9422 and called Winchester Csutomer Service at 1-800-333-3288. They looked up my serial number and gave me my manufacture date of 1981.
