hello all, I just got a MINT condition older Model 70 in 3006 for $350.00 , was wondering when it was made.......the seriel number is
G19657XX

pre-1964 model 70s,have serial numbers from 1 to 581471, hope that helps

My book only went to 1982, but the starting serial# for 1982 was G1537134. Your gun was made some time after this. From 1980 to 1982 they made between 43709 to 49307 guns per year, so your gun was made later in the 1980s..............[8D]
