Hello as people shoot rifles and either don't clean them or don't clean with the right products the bore will start to rust/pit then when you try to clean you will not be able to get all the rust /pits off the metal then burning powder will leave ash and dirt plus the jacket material will scrub off the bullet and further coat the bore all of this will make the bore look dark as light will not reflect off the sides like it would if bare shiney steel.

Often encountered with firearms - including handguns & much older 22 rimfire guns - shot with corrosive ammo. I wouldn't discount buying a gun with a dark bore, it may shoot OK, but I'd be very careful. Get either a great price so you can replace the barrel or the seller's written OK to return it if accuracy is poor.
