Are any or all parts from a Colt 1911 interchangeable with a Colt 1991A? Thank you very much.

    Just about every part.the 1911 changed to the 1911A1 in about the late 1920's time frame. the 1991 A1 came much later. The way some of the parts were made changed slighty arched mainspring houseing vrs. flat long ,trigger or short, checkering or groved slidestop pin and safety, hammer spur design . etc but the parts will interchange.early guns blued late 1911A1 GI guns parkerized some like the safety may need slight fitting."PRAISE THE HARD-BALL GUN"
