I AM NOT a luger expert, but says mint? make sure its not a refinish. If you have my luck any good deals "just sold it" answer. Lots of variables to look for.matching numbers, correct mag, ect ect. Take a look, can't hurt//imo nambu

Hello IMHO $1000 could be a very good buy BUT it could also be much too high of a price .Let me explain 1936 luger with all matching parts ."these small parts should have the last 2 digits of normally a 4 digit serial that is on the frame and also the barrel". some of these parts can only be inspected by taking the pistol apart. Could make this a $1000.00 + pistol . However even if all matching if it is REBLUED it would never be worth $1000.00 . Pistols made in 1936 were RUST BLUED and the inside would not be blued but just silver in color however only an expert would be able to tell. You either need to know what to look for or get an expert to inspect the pistol collector guns can be tricky to know what the true value is.

Leather Lanyard...on a Luger is not common........? Can You Post a Photo......?

Went and opened the Vault....Have 3 Lugers..One DWM No Lanyard Ring...the other is made by Mauser...No Lanyard Ring....'Byf'[Mauser] Marked
Military by Mauser....Has the Lanyard Ring....So I must have two Civilian Models and one Military...Never gave it much thought...Thanks for the wake up call................

Lanyard? I wonder if it could be a P-38 someone is calling a Luger. I've seen that happen many times.

And, a few small parts like the trigger should be "straw"; i.e., gold in color.

Yes boys, German military Lugers have a loop for a lanyard. It's on the back of the pistol under the toggle.
All the horse mounted troops had lanyards since 1908.

Tahnks for all of the responses. I haven't and probably won't contact the seller as it's probably gone and I don't have the $$ anyway. (My lovely wife would have a fit!!)

Here's a link to the picture and add btw...

The Swiss like leather pull-out straps or lanyards on their lugers as the Swiss holster were such a tight fit.

Here is a photo of my M1906 Swiss-DWM cross/shield luger rig.
