22 WRF compared to 22WMR

Just stumbled upon 5 boxes of Winchester Super-Speed 22 W.R.F.
I noticed that they are shorter then the 22WMR.
Will they fire in a 22WMR rifle?

Thanks,
Mike

Yes, but please don't. The Super Speed loading is older and collectible.

Not going to use them in my 22 Mag rifle.
I just read in "Cartridges Of The World" about them.
These are the older yellow boxes without the child warning on them.
I will be posting them on the auction side later.

"Will they fire in a 22WMR rifle?"........yes, just like shooting .22 shorts in a .22 l.r. just less power.........as to collectability, I doubt you'll get much more than current production .22 mag ammo.

I've heard mixed reviews by knowledgeable people regarding shooting the WRF cartridge in the WMRF chamber. Some say that it works and others say that it doesn't. I've pressed a little to see exactly "how" it doesn't work, but haven't received a workable answer. So I don't know if it doesn't fire reliably, have accuracy or just what the problem is- but as said others shoot it and contend that it works fine.

I have shot the 22 WRF in a modern 22 WMR chamber with no problems what-so-ever. The accuracy was surprisingly good.

My limited (one box) experience with WRF ammo in WMR handgun has been like firing .38 Spl. in a .357 Mag gun.
