I am wanting to change my buttstock on my AR10T, I like the PRS, are there any surprises when installing one on a AR10T?
Comments
They are one of the best stocks on the market for High accuracy shooting, on the AR platform. I own 5 of them, on 10's, and 15's. They rock. It is nice to be able to adjust for your length of pull, and comb height.
There are no surprises. From my experience, anything that says MAGPUL on it, works as advertised.

None. Just be aware that this stock weighs about 2 lbs. and feels significantly heavier than standard stocks. On the 10T, it should be a nice addition. For field work it gets to be a tad heavy on long hikes.

This is a .308 Win. rifle operated by a gas system which requires a standardized gas pressure in order to operate safely and consistently. 'Hotter' loads usually require a smaller gas port to reduce the volume of gas released to operate the system. Without this, you can batter the system causing failure.
You can sort of get around this by using an adjustable gas block (Novesky 3-position) but these are usually reserved for suppressed, unsuppressed and off and still require tuning by someone with experience. There is (are?) a block that uses a set screw adjustment but trying to keep or find a particular setting can be a test.
Best.
