Any help is appreciated including suggestions on where to go (on internet).
I have about 18 firearms left by my dad that I can no longer keep for various reasons -- civil war muskets, 1960s target pistols (45 and 22), Springfield Trapdoor, etc. None of them will put me on easy street or even make a monthly house payment, but I need to do the best I can when I sell over the next year or so.
Right now I need some information on this pistol I'm planning to sell/auction here in the next few weeks. Action is pretty good and it works perfectly (not sure about safety of firing), but Serial Numbers are all mismatched, handles are replacements, etc. Markings are faint -- in fact, there is only a "C" that is visible on barrel.
Thanks for any help.
Thanks again.

I STRONGLY suggest you invest in "Flayderman's Guide to Antique American Firearms" and study about this gun and the others you have. Your Colt is very collectible even in its current condition. You can't afford NOT to have Flayderdman's!

For the more modern firearms, I'd suggest you get a copy of the 2006 Standard Catalog of Firearms. It's very well illustrated and it's many pictures will help you identify the guns you have.

I got both books and will start auctioning them off (now with some confidence and knowledge).
Thanks again. Hoyt
