Browning Double Automatic Barrel Fit

I have 2 DAs, 1 steel and 1 alloy, with 3 barrels between them and they all interchange with no problem. The guns are 1950's vintage and the barrels all have the choke markings on the left side. I just bought a vent rib barrel with the choke markings on the right side and it will not fit either frame. The very bottom step of the rear lug on it measures .925 and on the other 3 barrels it measures .905. It appears that all I would need to do is trim .010 off each side and it should fit. Before I start filing I would like to here from those that have had to fit one of these barrels.

Before you jump on your white horse and go charging off in all directions, why not give Browning a call or a letter and ask them? The point of contact is:
