I'm interested in any info on the "DAISY RIFLE" barrel stamp on my winchester 73 manufactured in 1898. Examples of the marking dies appear in Madis book under special features without any explanation of their significance. Thanks much for your time and enlightenment!

Winchester exported many thousands of Winchester rifles and carbines to Australia. There were several very large importers, and one of them was "F. Lasseter & Co. Ltd.". All of the guns exported to F. Lasseter & Co. were marked "THE DAISY" on the barrel by Winchester.
