Hi-Point slide stuck back

Is there a hidden slide lock release on a model C9, or do i need a bigger hammer?
Seriously; I drew the slide back, dropped the mag, tried to retract the slide and it won't move.
Something I'm missing?

Nope. When the last shot is fired the slide stays back. You drop out the empty and either put in a loaded mag or not. The slide on mine will not go forward with an empty mag in place. Must be removed. With a loaded mag in place you pull the slide back a bit and release and the slide goes into battery. Well thats how its is supossed to work. Why the OP's guns slide is not moving is a mystery to me, guessing some thing broke or stuck.
Just smile and say nothing, let them guess how much you know.

Looks as if the 'slide retainer' extends into the mag well near the front left side (note the relieved area on the mag). Is it possible to manipulate this through the ejection port and cause it to release the slide?

I've never worked on a Hi-Point, but looking at the schematic, I'd say it looks like that "slide retainer" (part #8) is a part that is connecting the slide with the frame.

I'd be thinking the "hold open" (part #33) would be the part designed to hold the slide back when the magazine is empty.

It's hard to identify what's what in just a two-dimensional schematic, but I'd agree that you should be looking through the ejection port for a "lever" to manipulate to release the slide.

Thanks for your help, but it's going back to hi-point; it looks like a perforated prophlayic,so let them solve the problem.
