I have a Mauser 8x57 Sporter stamped R. Famage 1952 on the rcvr. Is this an Arsenal, Importer, or Gunsmith. What?
Thanks,
ENBLOC

They are Colombian military arsenal reworks. Most are pre W W II, Colombian military contract rifles. These were reworked and rebarreled in the early 1950's, to 30-06. Unusual to find it in 8mm, as the original Colombian Mausers were in 7 X 57.

    Original Colombian rework configuration.

Colombian contract Mauser model 1950 reworked by Reformado Factory "R. Famage".

    Wasn't quick enough.

    Think rebored, rather than rebarreled.
