I have a 77 with a stock that is green, brown, gray. I have been told that it is a rare color and is more collectible than the average solid color stocks. Is this true? and if it is, how much more is it worth than the solid color stocks in similar condition? Thanks

The gun you ask about is the " APACHE" model 77...There were thousands made..It was a model sold exclusively by K-MART.. It was the last of the nylons to be manufactured by Remington in the USA... The green colored nylon that is rather rare , is the Model 66 in "SENECA GREEN" that was only manufactured for a couple of years in the late 50's /early 60's.. they are difficult to identify since the "SENECA" coloration is so close to the "MOHAWK" brown..Hope this helps...
    JIM..........

PS: The 77 series is box magazine fed , whereas the 66 series is tubular fed thru the buttstock..Also the correct model number for the nylon rifles is always on the grip cap...
