Factory engraved Colt Mustang?

My dad got a used Mustang a few years back that had some engraving on it. The gun didn't have any paperwork but the serial # indicates it was made in 1986. Short of doing the records check thing, is there a way to look at the engraving and identify it as either factory of after-market engraving?

Post quality close-up photos. With engraving the lighting has to be correct though. Diffused "open shade" type lighting, has to be used. For a accurate representation of the engraving.

don't forget to look for the engravers name, initials, or mark that may be under the grips or other hidden area

Pictures may help us to give our opinion on factory or not. If you gat more Yes opnions that it is factory than Negative . Then it will worth spending the money for a letter. Up front it is 10 times more likely to NOT be factory
