Winchester 94 info wanted.

I'm interested in a 1958 win 94 but I'm not sure if the wood has been sanded or not (I don't have access to the gun)below are some pics of the actual gun. Thanks for your help.

    Just for future reference, all the pre-'64's I have seen with unmolested wood the wood stands slightly proud of the steel. That is, the wood is fitted a little above the level of the metal where they butt together. I'm sure Bert could add more specifics.

    If you look at the 2nd picture, the start of the curve on the comb looks rounded from heavy sanding. It should be a little more squared, and the finish on the buttstock doesn't look right..color is off.

    I think your OK to let this one go.
