My left knee has been bothering me. It does not really hurt to walk but it sometimes unlocks when I take a step. If I push my foot into a Mucks boot it hurts like the dickens while pushing down. At night it will hurt while sleeping. The knee will sometimes go into a spasm while napping on the couch on my back with sudden sharp pains.

I'd venture to say, your knee is F'd up.
(And) In my professional opinion, the part that is F'd up is your knee. In order to be even more specific, it is your Left knee.
My next check up with the VA isn't till July and I also have this left foot problem on the ball of my little toe. Feels like I stepped on a sharp piece of glass. My wife thinks it is just a callus but I trust my forum medical experts sooooo much more than my better half!
I have some really cool saw blades for my Dremel that I need to test drive. Maybe I can fix it for you.
No, no, no..................................this requires a titanium drill bit. Sawing it off is after, this drilling does not work out.
Suggest you see your family practitioner first. If he is any good, he can manipulate your leg & give you a likely diagnosis.

And, by the way, you can edit your posts.
Edit: there?s a little picture of a pencil above your post, and it works
Good, you did not mention menses. I was worried about that one.
A week after the surgery the Dr. removed the 3 sutures from 3 small (1/2") incisions around the knee. He also froze a spot and removed about 32 cc's of blood. These steps greatly improved her time on the knee. She recently started physical therapy to increase the joint's range of motion and muscle strength.
Perhaps someone could compare the above to a total knee replacement.
Probably too late for the smallcox vaccine.

I was more worried about Toeleeo Then my shoes would not fit.
Apparently when the high level (8-10) intractable persistent neuropathy spikes or I have a few rough pain days they say that I blow a fuse and the CNS overloads and I loose function in the right leg from the top of the knee down
The knee still can swing or be manipulated like a hinge - the foot points down - the knee won't lock up or support weight - it's like a peg leg or a prosthetic - like it fell asleep times 100
The phenomena is not bilaterally symmetrical - the right leg is worse them the left.
Neat right???

Got to where a handful of painkillers/anti-inflammatory pills weren't doing much doc decided I needed both replace -- bone on bone contact.
That was 10 years ago and I've had little problem since but it sounds like you've got a problem with the connective tissues.
What about a good brace?

If that doesn't work it sounds a bit like worn and or torn cartilage . Can happen from injury and wear. Either can come from old age or a work environment that includes heavy lifting or a lot of standing on a cement floor.
We really need pictures to be sure , so sharpen the pocket knife and make a vertical incision approximately 8 inches long at the joint. Peel back the skin and soft tissue until we can get a good look at the cartilage. Take a bunch of pictures cause once your open you likely won't want to do a follow up. 6# monofilament and a sharp #3 ? hook ought to get you sewed back up pretty good. Better have an assistant to call 911 if you be to busy hopp'n round to do so. Don't get the wife angry either. Best do it outside where she don't have to clean up.
I've heard they have some machines at the doctor place that can look inside there without cutting it open, but that's up to you. I think they cost a bit more.
Disclaimer : I am a few semesters short of being a real doctor so I take no responsibility for what may happen if you follow my instructions.
Have a nice day !
