The guy just had to ruin his life and the lives of others, when the fact was, he had a good start on life. Now he gets to PAY FOR HIS DEFENSE, no public defenders,, GOOD !!
Cruz will inherit money from an insurance policy for his late mother, Lynda Cruz, who died of pneumonia in November 2017. The public defenders argued that state law bars them from representing a defendant who can afford private attorneys.

Instead of more "gun laws" they should make any money convicted criminal turned over to folks they hurt. Be it inheritance or intellectual property sold to Hollywood or paperback. But this is America where criminals got more "rights" than innocents.

Law makers need to turn around the laws to make criminals pay for thier sins. Thier families as well. It would be a deterent to crime. They should also pay back for thier time served. No more 3 hots and a cot. No one gets a free ride for crime.

Liberals and bleeding hearts continue to destroy America with bad policies.

Any money he may possibly inherit/make is already tied up by civil actions.
I predict the Court will rule that the PD's office will be forced to keep the case, but that slimy a-hole may have to pay a fee for their efforts.
