Yes, like that one as well, haven't found any glaring bloopers as far as historical issues so far. I've watched it several times.

If you have netflix, look up Terrence Hill, he was the guy who played noboby in the movies, he did many other westerns and was as famous as clint eastwood in his own country. most were spaghetti westerns but still good. in his final few movies he played a type of doc hollyday cowboy, borderline, good/bad guy. in one of his nobody movies he has a scene in a bar where he slaps a guy then pulls his pistol, puts it back and slaps him again, then pulls his pistol, I know it is just the movies but he had to be pretty fast just to do it, and I think it is one of the best bar scenes in a cheap western.......

Open Range is very good! Robert Duvall in any western or any movie for the most part makes even mediocre movies worth watching. I make it a point to watch Lonesome Dove once a year. It is one of many favorites.

Where I live, "Open Range". Means that your likely, to find a black cow on the road with you. At O dark 30. Don't want to think, about all the folks that have been killed and injured. By hitting one of them critters. Long as the roads are posted as "Open Range". I don't believe that the owners of the cattle, can be held legally accountable for anything?

HIllbillie- think you are speaking about Trinity- try this one:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9C-fRdCmzDk

I think that shootout in Open Range was listed as the longest movie shootout filmed.

But my favorite bar fight scene was not from a Western- it was in Second Hand Lions.

agreed, second hand lions has one of the coolest fist fight scenes of all time! overall its just a cool movie. :-)

I also like the remake of True Grit with Jeff Bridges....one of the coolest gunfight scenes from horseback!..."Fill your hands! you son of a *!"

There've been quite a few good westerns in the last 20-25 years. The Shootist, Conagher, Last Stand at Saber River and Monte Walsh was a real hoot gettin' that fella's door painted. As bar fights go I liked the closing scene of Conagher.

It was either in "Open Range," or "Broken Trail," that there is a closeup shot of Costner shooting a Winchester carbine with no front sight.

Must've been Open Range with Duvall and Costner as Broken trail had Duvall and Thomas Hayden Church?

I'll have to watch a little closer next time Open Range is on.
