Who here has traded firearms online? How do you handle the mechanics of a trade? Shipping, inspection, FFL's etc?

I get offers sometimes but have always declined. Too complicated.

I've done a few trades via VGT (Virginia Gun Trader).
We met face-to-face. We each drive halfway.

I would insist on a lot of photos to document condition if I was going to trade sight-unseen.
There is still a chance we would be out shipping both ways if the trade does not fulfill.

When I was a newbie here when I started selling/ buying here, I fell for a trade offer. We each sent the firearms as per law to an FFL, and well, his was what I would call 50% instead of 90% and it wasn't worth the time to do it and that's what the crooked ones here count on. NOW, NO WAY any trades considered OR OFFERED.

I have traded here on GB.

    Email seller:
I have this AR-15 would you allow it a trade value of $1,000 for your widget? If so I will bid $1,000.

Seller: Yes, provided we both go through GB

    Me: Place $1,000 bid
    Me: Win auction

Me: ship my gun to seller
Seller: ships his gun to me.

    Both- leave FB on GB.
GB paid through normal seller fees.

I am a reg VGT user, excellent platform, I've had nothing but perfect experiences through VGT, That being said I would have a very very hard time conducting a trade via shipping, with out FTF....even if the person had outstanding feedback i'd be very leary about trading firearms sight unseen.

Where in SW VA are you? I'm near Salem.
