rain on the 4th of July

I noticed that it almost always rains right around the 4th of July. usually the day before.

always thought it was because of all the smoke from pre-4th fireworks.

but then I realized, it has been doing that in 3 different states I lived in!

so, does that mean that it rains all over the country??? right around the 4th of July, everywhere?

what have your observations been?

I can't remember the last time it rained on Independence Day here.

There was snow July 2nd 2018 but plenty of sun July 4..... as per normal. Usually under fire watch.

Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain

Hopefully it'll be a down pour all over the country and keep some of the drunks off the lakes and roads.

Historically, June is the driest month of the year here in Utah. Zero chance of rain. But then the southwest flow starts to bring moisture up from the Baja. This morning, I observe a bank of cumulus clouds already forming out over the Great Salt Lake. And the humidity is at 44% this morning - quite humid for here. That portends t-storms later today. Isolated to scattered, and mostly over the mountains, but present.

There's also still snow up high and one ski resort has its last day of the ski season today. Ya gotta love Utah.
    I may be a bit crazy - but I didn't drive myself.
