Code of Ethics for Journalists

Apparently there is little or no enforcement nor consequences for violating the Code of Ethics from the Society of Professional Journalists.

https://www.spj.org/ethicscode.asp

The Society declares these four principles as the foundation of ethical journalism and encourages their use in its practice by all people in all media.

Seek Truth and Report It.

Minimize Harm.

Act Independently.

Be Accountable and Transparent.

Those clowns have no code of ethics these days. Anybody with a lap top living in their mother's basement can be a journalist now. Just go to Yahoo.com and read some of that crap and you'll know what I'm talking about.

I strongly doubt that many of the news readers/ talking heads are members of the SPJ.

When I was in college as a Journalism major I joined it's predecessor, Sigma Delta Chi. Many others did not join.

I left Journalism a few years later when I figured out it was all about egos, not about truth. :(

If there are any journalists around, professional or not, I haven't heard of one in 40 years.
All I observe is partisan political operatives controlled by the DEMOCRAT party.

What chiefr said. Journalism and ethical reporting ended when "Journalism" schools began teaching that the media has a duty to change the world - and global socialism is the way it needs to go. Today, there are no reporters who are not activists for the left.
    I may be a bit crazy - but I didn't drive myself.
