Did a lot of damage too.
Kind of a coincidence LA gets a big quake on the Birthday of America
I am going to miss Yosh though.
We did get a pretty good rocking and rolling from the Northridge quake!
If you can't feel the music; it's only pink noise!
I was at a resort in Huatulco Mexico in 1998 and we had a 6.8 IIRC and tons of aftershocks! A whole lot of shaking and moving!
People were stuck on an elevator in the hotel, people running into the building, out of the building, screaming, it was the first time I witnessed mass panic.
Wife asked me where we should go, I said lets stay right here at the bar, this is as good as any place to die and finished my Martini and ordered another........
The next day half the guests slept out by the pool, and yelled at the employees like it was their fault we had an earthquake!
I could live the rest of my life without experiencing another one.
Don't want to offend anyone.
Why?
For the same reason I bought a couple Confederate Flags a few years ago after I was td I shouldn't buy them because they are offensive.
I typically dont like all these Nike Shoes and stuff, but Damn!
I liked the Betsy Ross flag shoe!
Maybe only because Krapernik finds it offensive........
The Hell you will. I'm moving in "refugee" style. Bunkie . And no you cannot call me "Kato".
If you take a step back and think a moment the wider impression is the Seashell layers and the alluvial fans were leftovers from catastrophic events and not slow geological formation/processes. I'm not a geologist, I do seem to notice things many people seem to overlook. Most of these locations are near the San Andreas fault. Another oddity is many of the layers of rock and earth have markedly different temperatures if you are smart you find one warmer than the rest and that is where you camp in cool weather. I made many cold camps in these mountains, it's a dangerous fire area. IMO a catastrophe waiting to happen.

Like it says in the scout manual.
Be Prepared.
AS they said on the Price is Right, "Come on Down." You can sleep on the beach and feel right at home.
