Anyone have one of these? Fleebay has them for around $10. Cheap enough. I assume the battery start just gets the "siphon" procedure in gear rather than "pumping" the fluid? Thanks

If your looking for a little cheap pump you can find all kinds of these little drill pumps on Amazon for around $5 to $10 bucks that you can use on a cordless or regular electric drill. If you were going to use it a lot I'd go for a better quality one though.

The drill pumps work well. Either buy a couple of the ?15 dollar models or one $25 model, Mine pumps, water, fuel or oil and has lasted well. I do dry it out and spray some WD-40 silicon lube into it before storage, dry gaskets or impellers don't last long. Sand or other solids are to be avoided, the impeller is almost always plastic.

If you have a wet dry Vac you can use that. Especially if it is just to get a siphon going. I even have one wet dry vac set up with a drain cock so I can empty it into a bucket. Works great for that last inch of water in a basement and grit has no effect on it.

I bought one of these at Harbor Freight to transfer diesel into my backhoe & it works great. Easy to use & it transfers 5 gal in a few minutes with no spillage. I also tried it for hydraulic oil, but it was very slow. If it ever stops working, I'll buy another.

I just got to say it....

Don't use those pumps for gasoline!!!

Fuel oil/diesel/kerosene is safe enuff , but not any low flashpoint fuels such as gas, paint thinners and the similar liquids.

I had a guy ask me about using his wet/dry shop vac to suck 10gals of gas from his car.
