Why was it not in bags like the way they pick it up? Sounds suspicious to me. But, then again, I've never been in one of those vehicles so what do I know?

Me either Don. But, I can't really call what they are doing stealing. That said, I am sure no one would logically assume Bill Gates just drove down the highway in front of us tossing stacks of money out the window as he went.

If you know something is not yours, yet you take it, you are a thief.

What they are doing is not burglary, nor is it robbery, but it is theft.

I can't (and won't) argue that from a moral standpoint. I mostly agree. However, many would say there is a difference when things are lost in public.

    another video

    www.wsbtv.com/news/local/dekalb-county/dozens-of-drivers-stop-on-i-285-to-grab-cash-that-spilled-onto-road/965508278

This is westbound on 285 at Ashford Dunwoody. These are my old stomping grounds, I lived a mile from this intersection for 15 years.
This video says they lost $175K. One guy got guilty and returned $2100. The cops are asking for the money to be turned back in. They have the video, they have the license plates, and they are looking for the bandits.

over the years I remember several + times similar events happened and the plea to return the money
I have never been on the the road when it happens , but I am sure I would say "here officer I saved 50.00 " all I could save from the crowd ;);)
If I took a guess I would bet less then 10% of people any of the same events turn in the money back in

Sorry but this doesn't pass the smell test. Are we to believe that armored cars go driving around with money piled up inside like autumn leaves? BUT, if I was an armored car driver and wanted to steal, say, $100K spilling few grand on the highway would make for a great distraction.

it may have been in just a box(s) flipped out hit and poof raining money

close as I got after thinking about it a freto-lay truck passed our house many years ago ( we have a small bump / hill in front or our house ) I was mowing the lawn the truck came by he had forgot to roll the door back down I seen as he went rolling past , a box fell out with 3 bags of chips in it ;) he was hauling butt to get home my guess so I did not even try to catch him over a couple dollars worth of potato chips

truthful I like what you said. The guards get $50K each in cash, and throw a pack of cash out onto the Perimeter as camoflauge.
Hell if they did it right, how could they get caught?

I am very confident they all did just that. Picking it up was an act of consideration.
