Yosh, you do realize that the 4.99 burger is soooooo much better than the cheaper stuff don't you?

Wow, I guess all that stale burger from the hundreds of drowned dairy cows in Nebraska DID make it through the packing plant.

We don't eat a lot of beef but down to our last 3 T bone steaks. IGA has them for 5.99# this week so headed there to restock. Also has pork center cut loins for 1.59. We always buy meat on sale.

Lifetime hunting / big game ..fishing here.. 9 bucks. We have enough deer in the freezer to last at least a year.

Select-Fire. I generally get 3 deer a year. We only use about 40 pounds or so a year so we give a lot away. My mother-in-law hasn't bought red meat in well over a decade. But, she returns the favor with fresh veggies for us.

I have lifetime hunting and fishing in both KS and OK. KS still charges for tags though for big game. 9 bucks would be awesome but we can only get one a year. LOL. 9 dollars would also be awesome.:mrgreen:

You gotta be kind of careful buying beef on sale when the price seems too good to be true! The trucks going in and out of the Bovine Cancer Research Center have been very busy lately! :o

I don't buy walmart or el cheapo beef brands. I have my meat cut locally from the grocery store. They sell a lot of meat to keep the prices low.:lol::lol:

I never buy frozen meat unless its burgers for a cookout and those are quick frozen . Freezing meat especially slow freezing meat really degrades the quality.

LMAO... Deer meat frozen tastes the same. So does beef. Buying it the day you use it.. You could buy a new car for the money wasted paying full price.

I would love to put my frozen venison to the test for you Austin. We actually found some 2013 venison (no kidding) a while back that somehow new got stacked on top of it. Other than one TINY (about dime size) area that was freezer burnt, the rest looked, smelled, and tasted completely like normal. I find more taste variation from deer to deer than I do from year to year.
I won't argue that if something is packaged and/or stored improperly that it will quickly ruin the flavor and sometimes even the meat. I cooked some dove a while back. I always freeze them in salt water. Somehow, either the bag tipped, leaked or something, but the bag wasn't full of water. I ended up throwing a few dove away that were shot last Sept. But, at the same time I cooked the last of the batch before that was from 2016, were packaged right and were yummy as always. I have said for many, many years that if I could fill my freezers with dove, I might not hunt anything else. They are fun to hunt, easy to clean, prepare, and are delicious.

+1 I reckon freezers are for ice cubes... Maybe he doesn't have a freezer?

    Advantages Of Freezing

There is no as such loss of nutrients, moreover texture and flavour is also retained by freezing. Thus frozen foods are better nutritionally and organoleptically.
The low temperature inhibits the microbial activity and some enzymatic reactions.
The shelf life of food products increases by freezing.

Thanks for debunking your BS about freezing Austin with this posting.

I did read the whole article. I even posted about the freezing. Read it. I don't eat rib eye steak. Meat here in SC is obviously cheaper than Kentucky. So is gasoline. I buy meat on sale. Grocery store in same town as T bones for 4 bucks a pound more..not on sale. Any clue what a loss leader is? A grocery store putting something on sale to get you in the store to buy other items. They don't make any money on the sale item but do on other items purchased. I reckon the 1.59 Center Cut Pork loins upset you also? I sure the hell hope so.:lol::lol:

BTW.. We had some Venison Backstrap last night that was marinated and put of the grille. Super delicious. Sounds like you need to open a go fund me account to buy a freezer. :P
