Hell, I am insurance poor now already. Everywhere you turn there somebody selling it. How about your natural gas line or water line insurance they push now and the damn phone calls selling vehicle repair service. There is only one other entity That I can think of that gives you paper and ink and a guarantee yep you guess it The Federal Reserve.Go figure?

Nope, while Albuquerque sits on a fault where the strata at the top of the Sandia Mountains (10,000 feet elevation) on the eastern edge of town correspond to strata 15,000 feet below the city, it is a very stable fault. Much of Albuquerque is required to have flood insurance if with in a certain distance from the Rio Grande. Our first 18 inches of property are within the "flood zone" and if the water gets this high the 7th floor Mayors office in City hall will be wet. We are not worried.

    Nope.......not a chance in hell.

    Don't much believe in insurance.

I carry insurance on my vehicles because it's mandated by law...the amount required to compy with the law and no more.

Home insurance, yes due to contents and replacement cost and 'cause some dummy might trip over their own feet and sue for millions for a broken leg.

Life/health insurance is a big rip off like most insurance including auto/home.

Guess who pays for the huge insurance buildings, employees and sales people :?:

    Insurance is just legalized gambling.

You gamble you might need it and the insurance company gambles you won't.

    Think about it :!:

No different than playing craps in Las Vegas.:lol:
The government has no rights. Only the people have rights which empowers the government.
We have enough gun laws, what we need is IDIOT control.
Blood makes you related. Loyalty makes you family.

I thought getting old would take longer.

Living in the Arkansas Ozarks we have quite a few little shakers, It has settled down some now since they have stopped fracking but for a while we would have a little one about once a month,, not big,,the biggest was just a 3.6 ,, even so we keep it,,its only about 30 bucks a year,, just lets me sleep better knowing if the house rattles of off the foundation

We're close enough to the New Madrid fault that we've got an earthquake rider on the stone on the side of the house.

We're building a new house and may not get 'quake insurance, but will have to look closely at flood ins -- the 100 year flood plane line is only feet away.

Pretty sure you could get insurance for your toe nails these days and one could also end up spending all of their hard earned money just in premiums. That is exactly what the salesmen (extortionist's) would like us all to do!

They use FEAR for their tactics and legally get away with it! The real teaser about many insurance policies is the FACT that in order to get paid for any claims is that you have to hire a lawyer and fight the insurance company in court to get paid.

My house is only 17 years old so it is built to modern standards. If the quake was severe enough that the damage was over the HIGH deductible I suspect the insurance companies would go broke & couldn't pay. In any case Uncle Stupid will bail us out to rebuild in the same place.
In the case of motorcycle insurance & probably auto as well you might find there is a minimum payment & raising your insurance limits doesn't raise the cost until you get quite a bit higher. I pay $75/yr for my motorcycle & it costs the same for $15K or * injury $250k/person $500k/accident & property damage $100k/accident. $75/yr is the least they will charge.
Life insurance is the dumbest bet, you have to die to win.
