The buyer & seller should make contact within 5 days. There is no requirement that the seller be the one to initiate contact, but sending an invoice to the buyer is often the first step.

Just about any possible situation is covered under GB's FOR SELLERS advisory.

Action rules clearly state that the seller has five days to contact the buyer.

Most buyers go straight to GB checkout since everything changed. GB sends you a notice right after the auction is over saying you won.

LSB, I assume you sent the winner an invoice, if so he should respond within 5 days. If not, I would notify GB support. I know you folks at LSB always send an invoice right after the sale.

If I read it right, LSB is the buyer, not the seller.

Why would you sit back and wait? I send my information and my transfer ffl's information and a copy of his license when the auction ends. I then pay via Gunbroker if possible or send a check the next morning or very rarely wait to hear how to pay. I let the buyer know it has arrived and when it is in hand. I also post feed back and don't worry if the seller does or doesn't. I just take care of my part to the best of my ability. Anything else looks like playing games to me.

If the seller has no feedback then yes, I do contact them somehow before I start sending money FFL's ect. If they have multiple positive feedbacks I get the required money, paper in the email quickly.

When I win an auction I usually put an FFL and Postal money order in the mail before I even hear from the seller. They only reason I wait to hear from the seller is if they have "actual shipping charges" or something like that where I have to have them get a total.

What is the purpose of needing to communicate with the seller if the shipping charge is listed in the auction? You know they total and the sellers address, you know you need to send money and FFL. Send Money and FFL, boom, done.

I'm just a buyer. Without people like me auction sites couldn't survive. On GB purchases, if immediate check out is available I use it, and, if it's a firearm I e-mail the receiving FFL and he e-mails his information. Then I send the buyer an e-mail concerning this and include my contact information in case it's needed. I have recourse for a refund if I use the check out system so the risk is small.

If the seller wants a mailed money order I expect them to communicate with me before it's mailed. I am not going to send non-recoverable payment to someone without communication from them. I understand sellers who are in the business may not like it this way. I only have so much money to spend and I am not interested in wondering if I am sending it to a real person. No communication equals no payment.

Like I said, I'm just a buyer. But it's my money and I get to make the rules for who I send it to. If my way in unreasonable to the seller so be it. I'll spend my money somewhere else.

Sorry, LSB, you haven't done your due diligence. You need to send a reminder to the buyer through GB between 4 & 40 days.

The Non Paying Bidder procedure requires that you complete every step & meet every deadline.

EDIT: Ooops, obviously I got confused.

As a buyer, I typically watch any auction I am bidding on to the end, unless it ends after my bedtime. If there is immediate check out I typically pay with in seconds of the auction end and have my receiving FFL info set up to send out the FFL to the seller. If it's a money order situation I e-mail the seller before they have a chance to e-mail me and I send payment the next opportunity the PO is open. But I'm OCD like that. I would not be happy if I hadn't heard from a seller in five days, I'd have been calling their business by afternoon of day one if they hadn't responded to my initial e-mail.
