Today was my last day after a little over 31 years at a local water district. The place was growing to big to fast, and was really becoming a dreadful place to be at. I really enjoyed my last few years as a construction inspector and working with the contractors, but the in house stuff was getting the best of me. Have a few camping and hunting trips planned for this summer and fall, then probably chill for a few of the crappy months. Will probably need to find something to do next spring..

    Congrats!
Although always described as a cowboy, Roswellnative generally acts as a righter of wrongs or bodyguard of some sort, where he excels thanks to his resourcefulness and incredible gun prowesses.

In the five years I have been retired, my wife has kept me busy. I told her I was going back to work to get some rest.
    Enjoy your retirement!

I've been retired 10 years after almost 30 years on the only full time job I ever had and now have TWO part time jobs and still farm so I'm not really retired. What I DO have is some flexibility in what/when I work so I can be available for Grandkids activities.

Retired 12 years now. I was born to be retired, LOL!

Winter equals fat unless you find some way to exercise. I walk on my treadmill while watching closed captioned TV s couple days a week, and do tai chi on between days for flexibility. Not a gym rat, so that's out for me.

Summers are fishing and golf. Fishing involves pedaling my kayak, so that's exercise, too. Find your own hobbies. Garden, swim, pickleball, biking...
    I may be a bit crazy - but I didn't drive myself.

Congratulations on your new "career" as a retired person.

I retired in 2001 and haven't regretted it one tiny bit. Always something to do to keep one busy without going to a job where you have to be!!

Do enjoy every day as you know, many never reach retirement age and never have the opportunity to retire.

I've known many who retired, claim to be bored and go back to work until they fall over dead and never took the time to enjoy the fruits of their labors. That is sad indeed IMO.

I thought getting old would take longer.

    Congratulations!

I took a year off worked another 11 years and now I don't work all that much. I never have a boring day and I shoot almost as much as I did in the Army ;)
