The word is DIVERSITY

?Can you cite one speck of hard evidence of the benefits of "diversity" that we have heard gushed about for years? Evidence of its harm can be seen ? written in blood ? from Iraq to India, from Serbia to Sudan, from Fiji to the Philippines. It is scary how easily so many people can be brainwashed by sheer repetition of a word.?

You cannot create a better society by combining two or more societies. You?ll only drag the greater society down to or below the lesser.
The big state college near me has a huge department solely created for the concept.

yes, our own country. in school we were taught about the concept of strength from diversity, how we beat the British because individual soldiers were trained to think for themselves, and the national motto is, after all, E Pluribus Unum.

our post- Civil War society is largely shaped by contributions from different ethnic groups. read Ethnic America by Thomas Sowell.

I think the big problems are when you introduce outsiders into Western European cultures, which aren't use to anything other than heavy-handed despotic theocracies and therefore take advantage of the gratuities of their hosts, and rebellious, resentful countercultures such as our Leftists or certain segments of the Black culture. neither of those appreciate it, let alone have any interest in coexistence or participation. they only want to take over. they are destructive to our society.

and most if not all of those who came here in the 20's up to maybe the 50's or so, came here to be AMERICANS, and to find a better life, not to complain how bad they were treated and cry for freebies......

When they were yapping about "E Pluribus Unum" it was heavily "white sided" (see what I did there). Anyhow how far back we talking? US born Japanese in POW camps? Chinese locked down in few square blocks? I suppose Irish were locked down before the Chinaman. As for post Civil War I suppose migrants were paid so technically they weren't slaves (I'm referring to the Yellow Brothas "Shanghai Noon" days) laying down tracks. As for the Red Brothas they're still kept down. Talk about third world condition right here in the good ol' US Of A.

If "out of many, one" after 200 years good amount of folks in the US would be "mutts". You know the ones that are proud their people were here since Plymouth Rock days. They should've had "coffee" in their milk long before the '60s. Hell even in "Star Trek" you can still pick out yellow, black folks and only "brown" folks were Klingons. They didn't bring a Mexican in until I wanna say "Voyager"?

Diversity is the word used by hypocrites to divide the nation. I'm still waiting for the day "Americans" drop the Japanese, African, Mexican, Chinese, Canadian, Russian or whatever else we ain't "one".

you're talking about melting all together. complaining about why we aren't all "one", biologically (racially) and culturally.

what's wrong with people having an urge to preserve themselves, racially and culturally? what's wrong with an instinct for self-preservation on those terms? nothing! and I wouldn't blame you if you felt that way too. or your ancestors in Japan who are a lot more conscious about racial "purity" than most, and they have their reasons why. I wouldn't blame them either and I'm obviously not Japanese. to each their own, let it be that way.

and when it's not that way, there are so many prominent people in this country that have crossed racial and cultural boundaries that there are too many to list. just narrowing it down to the world of entertainment would still give a list too long to enumerate. here's a few examples.

Slash, the guitarist from Guns-N-Roses, is half black.

Jimi Hendrix is black and 1/4 Cherokee and you know how much influence he had on white people. one of the best guitarists of all time.

Van Halen has David Lee Roth, of Russian Jewish stock, teamed up with the Van Halen brothers, who are from Dutch immigrants.

there was Michael Jackson, Sammy Davis Jr., Luther Vandross, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Roberta Flack, Diana Ross, Rick James, and dozens of other black entertainers who captured the admiration of many, many people irregardless of race and creed.

on and on and on and I've got other stuff to do.

Diversity is only allowed for certain segments of the population. Flipping through the channels a week or so ago I came across the Black College Quiz Bowl. First thought was why do we still have black colleges? Second thought was do any other racial or ethnic groups have separate colleges? If one is educated in a sequestered environment is it harder to succeed in the broader racial environment? Third thought was we should have a white college quiz bowl, but there aren't any all white colleges. Besides that wouldn't be politically correct, even tho a black quiz bowl is. Bob

Obviously, some of you have never had someone unqualified promoted over you, & then been told your job is to train that person.

The phrase "celebrate diversity" is a dog whistle for "affirmative action".

Like so many other code words of the left, "diversity" implies something much more innocent than they want to reveal. Just as "progressive" is a positive-sounding code word for "turning socialist little by little", so is "diversity" a code word for "consider even the abhorrent as normal."

Their goal is to pull down moral and cultural values until everyone is considered to be no better than anyone else - and therefore all of us need strict and total control by the elite. Meaning them.
    I may be a bit crazy - but I didn't drive myself.

I have numerous times, each time I told my boss NO, I am not in charge, you need to get him trained, and usually for month or so I would be told such and such was not right, I just look them in the eye and tell them to go talk to the new guy they promoted he did it that way not me........

Yep, early on, when going thru selection, was looked right in the eye by the TL, said I was the most qualified, smoked all the testing, etc, then told me ?...sorry but we?re taking _____, he?s way down the list, but, qualifications be damned, we?ve been ordered to increase diversity.? That was a kick in the crotch. To the other candidate?s credit, he did come to me and agreed he should have been lower on the list. He still took the position though...lasted less than a year. (I refused to quit the process, refused to lay down. It took another year or so, made it though!)

"As for the Red Brothas they're still kept down". Couldn't prove that by the Casino's near me and north of me near the metro area. A few years back every adult was taking in $5K a month tax free and every child $1K a month held in trust. About this same time in the metro area Casino the manager was fired for letting out publicly that the tribe members there were getting $1 million per year.

And yes I was passed up for promotion and told by a manager that I would have gotten the promotion but they had to put a minority in the job.

In the mid 1970's I had a Vietnamese tech working under me. I was a line supervisor at the time. I handed out the paychecks and his was always larger than mine. I was curious and asked him one day. He told me he was brought over and they gave him 7 years with no taxes to pay, and a 1% loan on both house and car.

As a supervisor I sat in a company meeting with personnel. They gave priorities for hiring and promotions. Minority women first, minorities 2nd, white women 3rd, and white men last.

Is that what Diversity means ? BS That wave has been ridden way to long as far as I am concerned.

buschmaster - Back when they coined "E Pluribus Unum" there wasn't much of a "Diversity" in this nation. Mainly Brits since the French got Canada .

So "out of many, one" you get what? Diversity? Sure about that? As for culturally ain't that the reason why we're bitching about Muslims? So we're supposed to respect their "diversity" of carry over from their old country. I wonder if female gentile mutilation will catch on here like male circumcisions? If we're not cool with this we're not diverse enough, right? Yeah, yeah I know we don't have to do it but we're supposed to let it happen, right?

Yeah I guess I went on the Unity rant instead of Diversity (to me another word for division). Well I suppose with the new injection of "diversity" from Latin America (not that I'll be able to tell the difference here) it might be a nice change of seeing other county's flag other than Mexico. I wonder if the Mexicans will be upset with Honduran flag in their neighborhood here in the US?

Oh we Japos are famous for being racists. Me I don't care. Hell I'm so American I'm no longer considered Japanese.

BobJudy - It might've been fun getting rejected from applying to those collages because of race then sue them for discrimination. Or are they protected from getting sued from racism?

nmyers - Affirmative Action the other dirty term if you don't embrace it.

mnrivrat48 - Not all reservations got a casino on them and the ones that do look out for their clan/tribe and no one else. Meeting their "quota" ain't diversity. Just numbers to operate.
