My thinking between multiple earthquakes happening all over the globe on a now frequent basis, volcanoes erupting reguarly now, the earths magnatic pole is shifting a much faster rate and space rocks coming in closer and closer. We are in for a " climate change" ;) And I don't think there is a damn thing we can do about it.. Also I think world government are completely away of whats coming.

    Tin hat time :D:);)

75 -100 years ago, the earth was having the same earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and space rocks coming close but few knew about anything other than in their immediate area.
Today, we can see into space and it's reported instantly ........ same with earthquakes, hurricanes, etc. that years ago one would never hear of or if one did, it was months if not years later.
It's just part of life on earth.

We had a huge increase (from less than two 3.0+ earthquakes a year, to over 550 in a year) in quakes here in Oklahoma some years back. The epicenter was an area that had recently been approved and utilized for waste water injection from oil drilling / refining processes. Of course the oil companies denied what they were doing was the cause but after they started getting into the 4.x range, the corporation commission stepped in and required them to reduce the amount they were putting in. Well, it helped. Lower magnitude and less frequent. They made other changes that I can't remember as well so now all of them are small enough to be measurable, but not generally felt. Ironically, the biggest quake we had recently in OK, I was dove hunting in Kansas ~225 miles from the quake here and felt it solidly.

I should also point out that due to historical low numbers and magnitude of quakes here, hardly any infrastructure and building requirements have much in the way of quake protection.

I guess I am telling you this partly because it is interesting (to me at least) but also I remember reading that area of the country has been getting more drilling attention so your area might be in a similar situation.

And 100 or so years ago, an earthquake was only 'known' if humans felt the ground shake.

Back then, they didn't have the high tech electronic equipment of today to gauge earthquakes so that alone, can contribute to the "so -called" increase in the number of earthquakes.

Always, there are different variables at play.
